The Heart Behind Breathe Better Yoga

My Story

Hi, I’m Kelly — founder of Breathe Better Yoga.

Breathe Better Yoga was born from my own healing journey.

While living in Vietnam during the COVID lockdowns, I was navigating chronic illness, anxiety, agoraphobia, and serious digestive issues. It was through yoga that I first found a sense of peace, and through breathwork that I found transformation. These practices helped me rebuild not just my health, but my relationship with myself. They grounded me, empowered me, and ultimately gave me my life back.

When I returned to Limerick, I saw a clear gap: there was little focus on functional breathing, stress relief, or the more restorative, holistic side of yoga. Everything felt fitness-first. I wanted to change that.

Breathe Better Yoga is my response to that gap — a sanctuary in the city, a space for people to reconnect to their bodies, breath, and inner calm.

My Approach

With over four years of teaching experience, my classes blend the ancient wisdom of yoga and pranayama with modern approaches to breath science, functional movement, and nervous system regulation.

I teach traditional Hatha yoga while integrating rehabilitation principles I’m currently studying, so students can move in ways that feel safe, sustainable, and healing. To me, yoga is never just about the poses. It’s about building resilience, breathing better, feeling free in your body, and finding stillness in a noisy world.

I consider myself a lifelong student, always evolving, always learning — and I bring that mindset into every class I teach.

Who I Work With

Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time, exploring private sessions, or joining one of our monthly workshops, my intention is always the same: to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every body is met with empathy and care.

I work with people of all ages and abilities — from elderly students in nursing homes to people with special needs to busy professionals seeking calm in their day.

What My Students Say

My students often describe my classes as grounding, calming, and restorative. I’m told I create a space where people feel truly seen, supported, and safe to explore their practice.

I adapt each session to the needs of the individuals in the room, and I genuinely care about every single person who walks through the studio door. Many of my students become friends. We talk, we share, and we build a real sense of community.

Kelly is an amazing yoga instructor! As a beginner I was a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up but her style of teaching is very inclusive to all levels. She also offers alternatives to each pose if you find the pose uncomfortable which is really appreciated. Her studio is so lovely and relaxing and I always leave each yoga class feeling like a weight has been lifted off. Highly recommend breathe better yoga!
